hi, am rain, also known by quite a lot of folx around Fedi as link (twink), i decided to adopt this name because it's more enby-coded than link i am a professional Ukrainian cat pan enboy (nonbinary boy, i fluctuate between manhood and enbyhood) thing, he/they preferred, but overall any doing IT as a hobby and for a living in a charity fund with no specific role, a little bit of everything on both, but my most favorite activity is system administration, in particular the hardware side of it, as well as i'm dabbling my feet into network administration recently a bit and i'm kinda liking it my passion is self-hosting and doing home labbing, so i turned this into something more serious with my initiative under the name Meow Tech Foundation which now hosts some Fedi instances, a Matrix instance, a Forgejo instance along with a runner and a static pages thingy, my very own mail server (the mails from which don't get sent into spam by Gmail!), some custom services like PCI Express bandwidth calculator, as well as some private services for my friends and closer critters my home lab currently features a custom mini-server with Xeon E3-1260Lv5 running OPNsense and acting as a router, a HP Z640 with Xeon E5-2697Av4 running TrueNAS and acting as a, well, NAS, and a Lenovo ThinkStation P330 SFF with Xeon E-2146G running Proxmox acting as my main host for VMs and LXCs with services this attempt at getting into Fedi started in January 2025 on an instance that is now dead, somewhere in Spring 2025 i hosted my first own instance, which was a Sharkey on twink.men which died in a literal server fire in December 2025, since then for majority of the time i resided on my own Wafrn on meowing.men, but i got burned out from modding and my home lab got burned out from hosting a quite big (for me and the home lab) community, so i shut it down, and now, as of October 2026, here i am, on my single-user Iceshrimp.NET
remembered that i was updating bios on my current mini pc through a efi shell script on which some folx were reporting that it didn't write one of the parts of the bios so it just bricked your shit and i was sooooo fucking nervous
i had to test how the email would look two times before sending it for real (so three emails), and all of them came from my own mail server, and gmail didn't mark it as spam all three times!!!
